This approach seems to make the most sense narratively given the urgency of each of the quest's goals. Level permitting, branch off again at Field of the Fallen, which leads into Into the Borderlands and The Sun Shall Fall, before getting back to Maker's End.
Complete that and it's followup, Revenge of the Nora, before returning to the first questline in A Seeker at the Gates. In general we suggest following your original Horizon Zero Dawn questline until you reach The War-Chief's Trail. Occasionally you'll have more than one main quest available, and apart from the difficulty guidance the quest menu provides, you can do them in any order.
